The 509th has been playing and hosting FPS and Tactical Shooters since 2001. In our 20+ years, starting with MOHA as the 509th SS, We have continued on the tradition of quality gaming and now refer to ourselves as just "The 509th".
Our moto is "Duty, Honor, Courage", and we put an emphasis on having a good time with shared commaradarie over having a "great score".
Our philosophy on tactical game play is just that. Play tactically. Critical thinking is part of that equation. Be proactive and not reactive. Move through the environment silently and concealed. Don't give yourself away so easily, make them make the play instead of just handing them an easy kill. Be smart!
We currently play Arma 3, Hell Let Loose and have the ability to fire up any of the older game files we have for our dedicated server box. COD2, COD World at War, COD Black Ops, Battalion 1944, and Modern Warfare are just a few of the titles that we play and host.
We operate internally like a business. We have an S.O.P. which we adhear to. Our process has worked well for over 20 yrs and counting.
We do not recruit. This doesn't mean you can't be a member, it just means that if you want to be part of the 509th, It is incumbent upon you to make it known, as we do not solicit anyone to become a 509th member.
